Fresh Flowers Every Friday!
I’ve challenged myself to document the progress of my homestead through flowers. I want to share the beauty of my garden with others and create a rhythm for documenting it. Starting now, Every Friday, I must post an image of flowers, and I have to follow the rules:
- If there are flowers in bloom on my property; I must photograph them.
- If there aren’t any flowers to photograph on my property. I have to find something in bloom elsewhere in the neighborhood to photograph. I need to document what’s blooming and come up with a plan to have flowers next year.
- If there’s nothing in bloom in the neighborhood. I need to find something in the house to photograph.
- If there’s nothing in the house to photograph. I have to go find a flower in bloom somewhere and write up how I’ll have a flower at this time next year.
- If 4 isn’t possible because I’m traveling. I need to take a picture of whatever flower I can find.
- If 4 and 5 aren’t possible because life gets has gotten the better of me. I can failback to an archived picture.
My goal is to accomplish two disparate things with this challenge. First, I want to add something beautiful and cheery to the zeitgeist. If I ensure I have something in bloom every week of the year, I’ll hopefully create a garden of year-round beauty. Second, I want to create a structure to document my efforts in my garden.
