We spent the past weekend on the road, visiting French Lick Indiana. It’s a beautiful place, but it meant I wasn’t putting much effort into the homestead when I was sitting by the pool. Perhaps the most notable outcome from the trip at this point was the chance to see blazingstars in bloom for the first time. They were integrated into the landscaping on the entryway to the resort.
Three Sisters Pots Progress.
I’m not sure if I can put a tick in the success column with this one. There is something going well in every pot, but it’s pretty inconsistent. None of the pots really celebrate all three plants at the same time. I really need to revisit this project next year and try and do a better job with it.
Otherwise, I don’t have much to share. I’m still fighting weeds and trying to kill some annoying shrubs. I’m also getting started on planning my additional plantings for next year. For anyone who isn’t aware, Foggy Blossom Farm has launched their online store. They’re one of my favorite homestead/permaculture/small farm youtube channels. If you’re interested in this space (and if you’re reading this blog, I assume you are). I highly recommend their content.
This weekend, there will be more events taking me away from the homestead, but that’s to be expected with the holiday.
